The Buffalo Trace Children’s Advocacy Center (BTCAC) proudly serves the Buffalo Trace Area Development counties of Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason and Robertson by providing a comprehensive, holistic, and multi-disciplinary approach to the investigation of child sexual assault. This approach includes: comprehensive child sexual abuse medical examinations performed by specialty trained physicians; mental health screenings; social services and law enforcement audio/video taped interviews, conducted in a sound proof child-friendly interview room; court and family advocacy services; and referral information. Individuals involved in the investigation of the case come to the child at the Center. In this child-focused, friendly, and supportive environment , where the needs of the child victim are always a priority, the child tells his/her story of abuse one time instead of the past practice of multiple times in multiple places. Providing these services promotes the mission of the Center which is to minimize the trauma of abuse for child victims and their non offending caregivers. BTCAC also provides community educational trainings throughout the year. All services are free of charge. If you know of a child who is being abused, please call your local police department, the Kentucky State Police, your local Department for Community Based Services, or the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-752-6200 (24-hours a day, 7 days a week). For more information regarding our services for victims, non offending caregivers, and education for professionals, please contact, Executive Director at 224 Limestone Street, P.O. Box 645, Maysville, KY 41056, phone 1-877-563-0572. Contributions are greatly appreciated and may be mailed to P.O. Box 645, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
